Use Case

Use Case from Section "Aeronautic"

Before a new aircraft design is approved, it has to go through numerous tests. This requires the production of prototypes and the operation of large test stands. Both costs a lot of time and money.

The aircraft are already largely designed on the PC, with the help of special design and simulation software. The simulations that can be performed with those are becoming more and more precise and complex. In the future, even the tests required for approval will be carried out on the computer. In order to carry out the tests and to ensure that there are no errors in the software used for them, large amounts of data are required, which must interact with each other. From the digital models of the aircraft, to weather, material, and geodata, to data about the software used itself. Metadata make it possible to link this data and to understand how they were created and influence each other.
